Beta-test launch

Post by ViolaE »

VEAE has launched in a beta version stage that in itself is an expedition. Further development may occur after the release of the first course material, which will be fun to create anyway but will depend entirely on how that is received. The wiki will continue to expand anyway because that will evolve regardless of the academic side of things, because it's the development side of things. The difference will be in how clearly things are explained and how simplified they will be factored, as things wouldn't necessarily be for a wider audience. That's the entire purpose of this website and its community. So, we'll see how things go.

Future development mainly concerns how this forum is tailored to suit the needs of an automated system as suggested by the game development alliance proposal. It leans more heavily toward a social media functionality, but PHPBB is certainly capable of this due to its open source nature. I predict a lot of headaches, but those headaches will only occur if a substantial amount of actice users are there, so that's a good headache to look forward to. That's essentially all that will need to happen.

The course materials will probably continue but without a lesson presented in video form, which is mainly how everything is simplified down. The rest of the materials dive pretty deep into technical jargon and abstract concepts, and those rely heavily on use of 'the glossary', which in turn requires one to pursue their own research. Without that approach, everything might as well not exist, but let's try, anyway.

Thanks for reading.
